Chapter 15.

The Alot Along.

It was September 2010 and the atmosphere in the house cup at this time was grim. Many disagreements and disputes had taken place over in the main cup thread, regarding staff and job allotment. The House Unity push of October was yet to happen and what we all needed was a little fun and silliness.

Little did the students of Ravenclaw know, that deep in the bowels of the castle, past both the Slytherin and Hufflepuff common rooms, in a small room hidden behind the picture of the dogs playing poker, a great plan was being hatched to reclaim some of the spirit and joy of the house cup.

It had been discussed in the chatroom, threads had been added in The Tower to accommodate it and volunteers started offering their services. Isisonearth the Ravenclaw, Head of House, got the ball rolling by providing rules and a basic pattern to inspire people and soon the names of people’s wannabe Alots started pouring in. Listed below are just some of my favourites;

Alot to Be Desired
Alot of smoke and dragin
Alot of Toupee
And
Alot of minions


The plan itself was simple, a complicated bank heist pulled off by a dint of extraordinary teamwork, with the help of grammatical constructs invented on a web comic. What could be more Ravenclaw?

In true ‘claw fashion, what had started as a laugh in a chatroom, had quickly turned into a full scale heist of Gringotts. The September charms class wouldn’t know what had hit it.

Word spread around the cup faster than Hermione Granger could read ‘Hogwarts: A History’ and soon those from other houses had heard of the plan to rob Gringotts. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many students from the other houses wanted in too, and Ravenclaws were happy to accommodate them.

As the more observant of you will have noticed, we had a growing army of Alots and their student handlers, we had a plan, but what we did not have was a story to accompany them.

Step forward the unsung heroes of this tale. Alotmaster Drake, and her assistant and proof reader Alotee TriGirlJ.

A great story was created by Drake, ‘The Great Alot Caper’. Spanning more than 25 forum posts and over 8000 words, this epic tale detailed the Gringotts heist in its entirety, with an individual entry for each Alot that took part. A truly Ravenclaw feat.

It is my pleasure as a Ravenclaw Archivest, to be able to present you with that story in its entirety. I hope you enjoy it and that the tale is past down to each new group of Ravenclaws for years to come.
