Sky
Chairs - "Come pull up a sky
chair ... " is usually part of a Ravenclaw greeting that will
greet you if you're new or visiting the Tower. Sky chairs are cloth
seats that suspended by rope from the ceiling. They support both your bum and your feet. They look a lot like
this.
Of course since the castle is a magical
place, you are suspended magically and can float anywhere you wish.
Some residents have quite elaborate setups with their crafts, food,
drinks and entertainment at their fingertips. Don't worry if you're
afraid of heights, some of our residents don't want to fly very high
at all and stick close to the ground so don't let this stop you!
Pi(e) - You will hear about pi(e) at lot in the Tower, especially in the winter term! March 14th or 3/14 is Pi(e) day! 3.14 is the start of pi ... You weren't really expecting me to write out pi to x number of digits were you?? You were? Oh. Ok. 3.1415926535897932384626
43383279502884197... Iina takes a breath and you stop her. Whew! We love math AND pie here in the Tower. If you stick around for pi(e) day you will see many people eating pie, enjoying patterns that involve pi, and even making special sea creature pies!!! We've even made up a special slogan for the Winter term! DO IT FOR THE PIE!!!
