We started off Fall Term with a bang and earned the first points out of all the houses, when zisch304 turned in this beautiful sweater for Detention just 18 minutes after the start of the term:
Since then we've had a lot of class turn-ins (95 in the first week!) and we're also doing incredibly well in Quidditch! There were loads of great projects, but these definitely caught my eye...
Hypercycloid turned the white and tawny colors of Abraxan horses into a beautiful skein of handspun for CoMC:
Jayannell made a wonderful colorwork hat inspired by Abraxan horses (although they do look like goats, don't they?) for CoMC:
Chrissyteenychan also made a colorwork hat for CoMC, this one delightfully covered with stars:
anisa made an adorable baby hat covered with owls for DADA:
biologyrose used her crank sock machine to make five perfect pairs of socks (turned in to DADA, Flying, Herbology, Durmstrang, and the HMC):
3trees made two van Gogh inspired project bags, turned in to DADA and to Flying:
volkat also sewed a bag for DADA--here is her cool science-inspired bucket bag:
JessiaSott knit with her own handspun for the first time and made this beautiful multicolored cowl:
caranam made an elegant pair of fingerless gloves for Flying and also turned in her first attempt at art weaving for Journalism:
EngineersFalcon spun this beautiful purple and green yarn inspired by vineyards for Herbology:
bigsnakes was creative with her presentation of three scarves and a beer mitt, arranging them to look like a grape vine for Herbology:
thtr4me made an adorable little sea turtle with a flower on its back for Beauxbatons:
greenheron kept the Tower candles burning with her pretty lotus flower tealight holder for Beauxbatons:
Bacs made an elegant shawl inspired by the teal topaz gemstone for Durmstrang:
maggievanderstok took the river as her inspiration for spinning this beautiful aqua yarn for Quidditch:
Hreow was inspired by flames and ash to knit a wonderful stripey cowl of her own design for Quidditch:
indigoroses chose to take the right path and made this fabulous bright blue cowl inspired by the river for Quidditch:
Finally, there were a few posts that made me laugh out loud, and which thus earned the Darth Pickle badge of silliness.
lostmoonofpoosh hung a pine tree ornament on her adorable newborn Satellite, for "that new baby smell," for Herbology:
And Topfrog donned a beard to pose as an older student from the Australian Outback in order to cross the age line for the Headmistress Challenge:
I hope you are as impressed as I was by all these projects, especially considering that these were all completed in the first 8 days of the term! Congratulations to all of you on your achievements!
I'm looking forward to sharing more awesome projects crafted by Tower members as the term progresses! Soar, Ravenclaw!
