Mid-Week Quidditch!

The Quidditch pitch is humming with all of the wonderful triage mediwizardry taking place!  39 Ravenclaw students have handed in their work so far, and there is time left through January 9 to get yours in.

So far, we have turned in 20 examples of cleaning and making bandages, 22 amazing mended items, and 34 projects have been frogged in the name of mediScience.

Look at this stellar example of mending mediwizardry done by our illustrious Head of House, picklemommy - simply wonderful!

Way to Soar, Ravenclaw!  Let's see more scores out there, and keep that Quidditch cup where it belongs!

From the Desk of the Spreadsheet Sorceress: Advanced Studies Advanced Look!

We are getting into the swing of the term, and you are probably asking yourself, "Can we top last term???"  It is a tall order given how high we were able to SOAR! last term, but I know we're going to try!  And one of the traditional ways that Ravenclaw has always SOARED! is with Advanced Studies!

Our intrepid NEWT students are already working hard on their projects.  By having the most NEWT proposals of any house, they also created our first flashcard for the Periodic Table Prefects' Challenge!  Well done!!  With Ravenclaw's high completion rate for Advanced studies, winning NEWT proposals should give us a nice lead.  Slytherin is close on our heels with the NEWTs, but this spreadsheet sorceress is still projecting about a 800-point cushion from NEWTs!

OWL proposals are still coming in, but as of the writing of this post, Ravenclaw is catching up!  Gryffindor and Hufflepuff came out strong in the first few days of proposals, and they still hold the lead in number of proposals.  If you haven't proposed your OWL yet, you have until January 22!  Let's get another element flashcard by winning OWL proposals!

Even though we're not winning OWL proposals at the moment, our historically strong completion rate nearly makes up for it!  As you can see from the chart below, the current projection is virtually a tie in OWL points!  Just a few more OWL proposals could give Ravenclaw the lead in OWL points, though, so get those proposals in!  It's going to be an exciting race in Advanced Studies this term!

In total, based on historical Claw Lawg data, we're projecting that Ravenclaw will keep its edge in Advanced Studies, but it's clearly still anyone's game!  The Order of the Phoenix is accepting BROOMs starting January 7 (that's TOMORROW!) and Order Missions could really change things up!

Let's cheer on our Advanced Studies students, get those OWL and Order Mission proposals in and continue to SOAR!!

Sunday Quidditch - Early Edition

Welcome, Ravenclaw Quidditch fans!  It's the first day of the first match of the Term, and Ravenclaw chasers are already on the job!

Marruknits, Rosimoto, and winemakerssister were first onto the pitch, scoring goals for their neat frogging and repair skills.  Way to Soar!

Rosimoto frogged a scarf and also her first failed OWL, painful I know, but it can be freeing!

Marruknits frogged two scarves to use the yarn to knit something new. Way to reuse, reduce, recycle!

winemakerssister frogged a scarf, and also did a lovely repair job:

This Term's Quidditch offers a bit of a change, a chance to learn some Mediwizardry, which is a great opportunity to stretch our skills and also practice some SCIENCE FOR THE WIN!!!

We can't wait to see what our other Chasers come up with -- will you help with cleaning up or making bandages, practice first aid by mending some well-loved handknits, or call it a day and frog an item and reskein the yarn to be used again?  Be sure to visit the Ravenclaw Locker Room for further details and Match-specific information and helpful FAQs. Remember your Tags that must be used - RQ23T for the first Match, and How to Turn In Quidditch, which this Term is a Map of the Wards. We don't want any disqualifications!

Mark your calendars/update your Bullet Journals with the Match schedule!  You can also sign up for start of match earburns via the Great Hall Remembrall service.

Jan 3 - Jan 9: Rotation 1

For those who played last term, remember: Quidditch this term is NOT cumulative. You may play in any or all matches, regardless of whether you scored in an earlier match.

We worked very hard to win the Quidditch cup last term, now let's keep it on the Tower mantle, where it belongs.

Soar, Ravenclaw!
