From the Desk of the Spreadsheet Sorceresses: October Pie!

November classes are in full swing, the Order of the Phoenix Missions are due on Saturday, and our Headmistress has challenged us twice over... sounds like a time for PIE!

All October final grades have been posted and we've squeaked by with the lead for the month:
That's some pretty pie, to be sure!  November classes are very much in play, even after our Safe Handling Beaver Moon blitz (can we finally catch that werewolf?!), so One More Class will always help in these final weeks!

The Billywigs on the pitch for Quidditch Match 3 have been cleared out and we had an admirable showing:
Quidditch Match 4 is accepting up to two projects -- no yardage bonuses in play, so small projects can pack a punch! -- for one last chance to get to the pitch and support your squad.

Advanced Studies is going to be one to watch closely; NEWT and OWL completions have been eerily quiet for all Houses.  Fingers crossed for a Ravenclaw-patented late surge, and our OWL 50% turn-ins could not be beat!
Phoenix Missions are in flux-- return by this Saturday and no later, Agents!

Right exactly now, we have a slight lead in total points, but the fate of the term truly will be in its final moments!  C'mon 'Claws!  It's time for Beast Mode like never before!!  #ClawsOut4BeastMode

From the Desk of the Spreadsheet Sorceresses: Early October Stats!

Fall term is off to a great start, and it is shaping up to be a really close contest!  You may be wondering: how are Ravenclaws doing?  Your Tower Spreadsheet Sorceresses have some answers!

We have been looking for Fantastic Beasts in the Prefects' Challenge for just over a month now, and we've been finding them in classrooms, advanced studies testing rooms, and on the quidditch pitch.  In September, Ravenclaws had particular success searching the classrooms.  (Note: This report excludes Grooming and Detention, which had not yet posted scores at the time of this writing.)

However, as you can see, it's still a very tight race in the classroom.  Can you do One More Class?  Every bit helps!  And don't forget that we're blitzing Healing class on October 16!

Out on the Quidditch pitch, 'Claws have also been working hard.  This is where we bookish types usually falter, and though there is room for improvement here, we are holding our own!
Can you help your squad to victory, all while finding more Fantastic Beasts?  Match 3 starts October 16!

Ravenclaws love their Advanced Studies, and we again are showing it with many fantastic proposals.  OWL 50% submissions are flying in, and Order Missions are secretly taking shape.  NEWT students have already earned points with their 50% turn-ins, and while there are no 75% submissions yet, you know they're coming!  In terms of potential, Ravenclaws have it in spades for Advanced Studies.  Of course, so do the other houses!
So let's show those other houses that we're a force to be reckoned with by maintaining our historically high completion rates!

Overall, it's really anyone's term right now.  Less than a point per student separates the first and second place houses, and only about 20 points per student separates first from fourth.  It's going to be a real nail-biter, and every point counts!
In summary, SOAR RAVENCLAW!!!

From the Desk of the Spreadsheet Sorceress: Fall 2015 Progress--Pie and other Noms!

It's that time of term again: time for the start-of-the-last-month update!  Can you believe that there are less than three weeks to go in term?  This spreadsheet sorceress can't!

There is plenty of good news to report, though, and Tower residents have been crafting busily all term!  As we predicted in at the start of term, Advanced Studies are an area where the house is excelling!  Those Order Missions are starting to come in, and so are completed OWLs!  As usual, Ravenclaw has achieved above-average completion rates for the Advanced Studies milestones.  Let's keep it up and get those projects done!  Remember, Order Missions are due November 18!

Ravenclaws have also been collecting books left and right in classes.  We've really answered the Prefects' call to #RestoreTheLibrary!  The speed-reading Flight of the First badge has been a big hit, and so have the Detention badges!  There's one detention badge to go: get Detention in by November 29 for the Madeleine L'Engle badge!  And don't forget about that awesome Completionist badge if you're still on track!  I know I'm going for that one!

Possibly the most exciting race right now is for the Quiddy Cup.  Ravenclaw is only about 100 points behind the leaders, Hufflepuff, and only about 50 points ahead of Gryffindor!  And Slytherin is only a few hundred points behind Gryffindor!  With the largest number of eligible players, Ravenclaw is in a good position to take the Quiddy Cup.  But with yardage bonus back in play and 22 base points per project, it's going to be a very tight contest!  Remember, Quiddy Task 4 is due on November 25!  So get on those brooms if you're eligible, and turn out to the pitch to cheer on your housemates if you're not!

In the race for the House Cup, Ravenclaw has a solid lead, but the race for second is fierce.  Let's finish the term strong and keep up this momentum we've built all term!  Let's beat those personal bests, keep finding books, and SOAR!!

Spring 2015 Progress: Pie and other Noms!

It's hard to believe that the end of the term is nearly here!  With only about three weeks left in the Spring term, we're all looking forward to a little Break Month Levity.  But there are still plenty of points-earning possibilities, so let's push on!  Remember, Quiddy Match 4 starts on Thursday, July 16 and ends on the 25th, and Order Missions are due July 19th at midnight POT!

Ravenclaws have been busily crafting their way to the ISS all term, and as of today, we are Admiring the Aurora Borealis!  (Don't forget to put your yardage into the tracking spreadsheet!)  High-yardage Advanced Studies projects are certainly helping us to our goal.  As of early July, we're in second place in Advanced Studies, behind Hufflepuff.

Second place isn't our usual for Advanced Studies, but we're within striking distance if we can get our Phoenixes, OWLs and NEWTs to land!  NEWTs are definitely looking promising!  Have you seen boki's fantastic trellises, which are only a part of her NEWT?  Or been following the Dragons of Happiness that Auora and CathyCake are making?  Let's cheer on our intrepid NEWT students as they craft on to the finish line!  They inspire all of us to achieve Advanced Studies glory!

As with Advanced Studies, we find ourselves in second place in classes, but this time behind Gryffindor.  And Hufflepuff is nipping at our heels, only 130 points behind by this Spreadsheet Sorceresses calculations!  Claws have been churning out those classes for the fantastic Flight of the First badges and the distinguished Detention badges.  Remember, if you want an Amelia Earhart detention badge, you have until July 24!

Claws have gotten organized with lists, had some treats, and done some window shopping out on the Quidditch Pitch this term.  We have one match to go, starting July 16!  We're behind, so let's finish strong and spiff up those brooms!  Find something to frog and repurpose for 20 base points, plus potential bonus!
In total, Hufflepuff has a convincing lead so far, and we're in a fierce battle for second, just behind Gryffindor.

We're hurtling to the end of term.  Or is it the ISS?  Or even Pluto with New Horizons??  With so many points-earning opportunities before the end of term, it's anyone's game! (Speaking of which, did I mention the HMC goes until July 28th? No?  Well, you can turn in TWO projects for the Hogwarts gardens!)  Let's finish the term strong and SOAR RAVENCLAW!

Fall 2014 Progress: Pie and Other Noms!

We're halfway through November and the deadline to return from an Order of the Phoenix mission is

midnight Princess Onica Time, the end of the day,
TOMORROW, Sunday, November 16
Even 25% finished means 25 points for Ravenclaw!

Ravenclaw's Advanced Studies have been in full swing throughout the term, and coming into the home stretch, we're just barely edging out Slytherin for the lead:

No completed NEWTs in yet, from anyone in any house -- the tension is building!

We've been dealing with Dolores Umbridge all term in Quidditch and unfortunately, her shadiness shows in the numbers:

Final match RQ19Match4 is flying high and elekanahmen is the first Claw goal on the pitch -- way to Go Out in a Blaze of Glory!

The prefects' Reducio! Challenge has us striving for MINIVICTORY! and Ravenclaw is keeping up in classwork:

Who will win the House Cup this term?  At this point, it's really anyone's game:

Spring 2014 Progress: Pie and Other Noms

It's almost mid-July (yes, yes it is!) and the deadline to return from an Order of the Phoenix mission is

midnight Princess Onica Time, the end of the day,
TOMORROW, Sunday, July 13

Ravenclaw's Advanced Studies have been in full swing throughout the term, and July marks the culmination of weeks of hard work:

Two intrepid NEWTons have completed their extensive research (and 13 others are still in the library -- good luck, nerds!). Akasha111182 hatched five eggs (avian and reptilian) and Nightrae hatched three dragon eggs:
Akasha111182's COMC/Transfiguration NEWT
Nightrae's COMC/DADA NEWT
Advanced Studies doesn't have a monopoly on larger projects, of course; the Quidditch finals are in full swing, with 69 Claws flying on their 450+ projects:
If you're still eligible to participate in the finals, remember to tag your post with your chosen country and RQ18Finals for RAVENCLAW! Two Claws have already SOAR!ed to Quidditch glory with their stellar spinning: congratulations on going the distance, SarahTheEntwife and Sadielou!

Thanks to BLANKET SQUARE TERM! and the prefects' remarkable Blanket the House Cup! challenge, Ravenclaw has had a better classwork showing than ever before:

Who will win the House Cup this term?  At this point, it's really anyone's game -- such a close race:

Lots of Pie!

Alright, fellow 'Claws. It's mid-July and I have a bunch of pie for you. :)

So as you can see, we're a bit behind on Classwork, Gryffindor is rocking Detention, it's rather neck-in-neck for Phoenix Missions, and we're tight with Hufflepuff in OWL submissions. It's crunch time, my friends. Let's craft like the wind!
