This week, we are defining a couple of terms that are by no means unique to Ravenclaw, but that seem to pop up an awful lot in the Common Room, SABLE and SABER.
Both of these terms refer to stash -- our collections of yarn -- and the size thereof.
SABLE = Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy. This term applies when you have so much yarn, it would be impossible to use it all within your expected lifetime. You’d think that would be enough, but some of us go beyond SABLE to SABER!
SABER = Stash Acquisition Beyond Expected Reincarnation. You have so much yarn that not only would you not be able to knit it all within your expected lifetime, you could not even hope to finish it in your next lifetime. Or the one beyond that!
Is there a particular Ravenclaw tradition or word you are puzzled by? Is there some bit of ancient (or not so ancient) Tower history you are curious about? Let us know! You can either reply in the comments or PM omeletsmom or s2five. We'll do our best to answer any questions you have -- or track down someone who can!
