Lab Shenanigans and Convocation
Hello everybody! With the start of a new term comes a lot of flurry and excitement, so I'm going to be here every Sunday to keep y'all posted on the labwork and Convocation.
The Lab has just been reopened for the fall term, and there's a new Science Saturday posted there. This week, it's Kool-Aid dyeing! TriGirlJ posted a link to a Knitty tutorial with really specific steps that looks super helpful. Maybe it'll give me the push I need to learn! Additionally, Kool-Aid dyeing would fit really well with DADA, Potions (of course), Flying, or Herbology if you're class-minded this month.
Convocation is starting back up again! Sign-ups are here. For those who don't know, Convocation is a Claw-centric game that involves self-reporting to the Convocation mistresses on your point totals. Depending upon how many points you reach, you unlock a segment of story (called a Milestone) and a badge and get new puzzles to solve or stories to tell. The FAQ is here, and it sounds really exciting!
So that's it for this week, but I'll be back next week with more to add from the Lab and Convocation!

Quidditch Challenge 1: Completed!
Quidditch season is primed to start with a bang! We have a crack team this term, ready to lead us all to Quiddy glory:
Captain: MariaCrafts
Keeper: secrettrail
Beaters: rondaletts and cathycake
Seeker: roocmc with bacskocky flying in reserve
Chaser: you, you, and mostly you, and you!
For this challenge, students were encouraged to prep for the first game by organizing one or more of the following: stash, Rav project pages, Rav favorites, Rav queue, Rav library, and/or craft room (phew! That's quite an assortment).
The flurry of scurrying was impressive and there were several drastic physical transformations!
Throughout the warmup, from whistle blow to whistle blow, Ravenclaw had more athletes stretching on the pitch than any other house!
<-- over 77% of the house participating!
SOAR RAVENCLAW!
NEXT UP: Game 1
Letter in a Sport: September 12-25
Make a project that has a quality that starts with letter S, R, H, G or N.
The planning has started! More info here, including lists of quick, free, applicable patterns.
