Weekly Showcase Wednesday: Welcome to Winter Term!

It's a new term!  And it's time for our first round of Pickle Badges!  It's only a little more than two weeks into term, and already Ravenclaws have been turning in fantastic projects all over the House Cup!

So what earns a Pickle Badge?  Well, there are not really any rules.  I just pick projects that stand out for some reason--stunning crafting, gorgeous colors, unique techniques, unbearable cuteness...  you name it.  If I like it, it gets a Golden Pickle Award!  And this term we have a brand new badge for the Golden Pickle Award!

Lettisia smartly used her OWL swatch to make a fabulous double knit coaster for Ancient Runes:

There is one other type of Pickle Badge to award this week.  In Ravenclaw, we are well known for threatening people with the Mallet of Sanity when they decide to attempt unbelievable feats with their crafting.  The Pickle of Sanity Badge is awarded to those 'Claws who not only attempt the incredible but also succeed in outrunning the Mallet of Sanity!  All of the 'Claws earning this badge this week have managed these feats in only about two weeks!

kvaustin did it again and knit an entire sweater, using an amazing 1100 yards of yarn, for Charms!

hnick spun an incredible 1728 yards of singles and plied them for Flying!

cn32, also a Pickle of Sanity veteran, crocheted a blanket using an unbelievable 2800 yards of yarn for Transfiguration!

Congratulations to all the badge winners this week!  What a great way to start off the Winter Term!
