Weekly Showcase Wednesday: Closing out the Fall Term!

It has been an incredible term with a record-breaking win for Ravenclaw!  And there were some spectacular projects turned in during November to help us earn that win!

First let me present the winners of the Golden Pickle Award!!  So many amazing projects.  There were lots of sheep in various forms, and handspun was a very popular option for Quidditch.  And since these are for the entire month of November, several people have multiple awesome projects that I want to share with you!

akasha111182 knit two pairs of wonderful stripey socks for CoMC and Quidditch and a beautiful toddler kimono vest for Hogwarts:



Hypercycloid used the colors of a firecrab as inspiration for a remarkable skein of yarn spun for CoMC and the colors of a purple-cliffed lagoon for several skeins spun for Quidditch:



PoodleParade sewed and appliquéd two delightful pouches for CoMC and Journalism:



nekobasu knit an adorable robot monster hybrid that she created from her son's imagination for CoMC:



LateClematis demonstrated ingenuity by turning a swatch into a pretty little cell phone bag:



nightrae crocheted a cute little green-cheeked conure for CoMC and knit a tiny hammerhead for Durmstrang:



Jozefeen made an adorable little cork person for CoMC (the hat!  the woolly sweater! so cute!) and a wonderful flock of sheep for Journalism and Quidditch:



AH77 knit a gorgeous pair of stranded colorwork socks for CoMC and spun some stunning purple yarn for Quidditch:



Topfrog used the last of her Malabrigo fiber to spin this lovely yarn for DADA and spun some more gorgeous yarn for Quidditch:



Hreow designed and knit a beautiful pair of socks for Flying:



nightgigjo crocheted an impressive flowered blanket square for DADA:



insanKnitty knit a collection of adorable snowman hats and then "edited" the pattern to make a headband to match for herself for Flying, Beauxbatons, Hogwarts, and Journalism:

CathyCake knit a lovely linen stitch scarf for Quidditch:



llim knit up the prototype for her previously designed and unbelievably creative deconstructed moebius cowl for Quidditch (and even seeing it now, I'm still confused):



Several Ravenclaws successfully dodged the Mallet of Sanity to win the Pickle of Sanity Badge!

tkannon knit an entire sweater, using 1900 yards of yarn, for CoMC:



anisa knit a steeked fair isle sweater for CoMC (it may be a baby sweater, but it's steeked, it's stranded colorwork, and it's over 500 yards!):



trikel decided that just knitting colorwork mittens was not enough and decided to make them double knit, resulting in a wonderful pair of super warm and reversible totoro mittens for CoMC:


blairistan used over 1300 yards of yarn to knit herself a stranded colorwork sweater for DADA:



LeahandtheDragon spun 2964 yards of singles and then chain plied them for Quidditch:



SarahTheEntwife spun 3904 yards of singles and then plied them for Quidditch:



And finally, there were several times I caught myself giggling while looking through projects, which earned these clever 'Claws the Darth Pickle Badge!

anniewithsticks decked out her cat in style, with a cowl matching her own, for DADA:



llim made me giggle with the idea of an apparating apatosaurus who is very "large" for Flying:



GazeboGal posted the most hilarious photo of herself as a benevolent insect for Herbology:



xamonster amused by giving a bunch of gourds crocheted beards for Journalism:



Hreow had some very entertaining captions for the pictures of her pets with a knitted ball handed in for Journalism:
