when they succeed, they soar, and when they fail, they fail spectacularly!
Alton Brown (b. 1962)
"I'm not very bright, and it takes a lot for me to get a concept -- to really get a concept. To get it enough that it becomes part of me. But when it happens, I get real excited about it."

Alton Brown has Mythbusters AND Spongebob cred, a combo almost as rare as an ErdÅ‘s–Bacon number. This bow-tie-sporting Doctor Who fan could easily pilot the TARDIS around (he owns and flies a 1979 Cessna 414A) if he wasn't so preoccupied with cooking and science (Gastronimo?).
Before he became "AB", Brown got a drama degree and directed commercials; his transformation into a culinary show host got him a Peabody Award and a James Beard nomination. Brown's new Nerdist-hosted podcast, brownily titled The BrownCast, is just what one expects from the man who once said:
"Everything in food is science. The only subjective part is when you eat it."
